In June 2016 I married and changed my name from

to the (slightly longer)

Johan Sebastian Heesemann Rosenkilde.

I am Associate Professor at the Technical University of Denmark, in the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, the Section of Mathematics. I am part of the Algebra Group.

My research interests are in the intersection between Algebra, Algorithms and Engineering Ingenuity.

My focus is Algebraic Coding Theory and related Computer Algebra problems, as well as its applications to theoretical computer science.

I have been involved in the development of SageMath, especially improving its support for algebraic coding theory.

From September 2015–June 2019, I was Assistant Professor at DTU. From October 2014–August 2015, I was a post-doctoral researcher at INRIA, Saclay-Ile-de-France, in Team Grace. From August 2013–September 2014, I was a postdoc at Institute for Communications Engineering at the University of Ulm. Before that I was a PhD student at the Technical University of Denmark, under the supervision of Peter Beelen and Tom Høholdt.
